Robert was born in 1533 in Edinburgh Castle, Midlothian, Scotland , In 1539 he was made Abbot of Holyrood Abbey, and Commendator of Charlieu Abbey in France by 1557.2. He died at the age of 60 on February 4th, 1593 in Kirkwall, Orkney Islands, Scotland.1
