King James II of Scots was born on October 16th, 1430 in Holyrood Abbey, Edinburgh, Mid Lothian, Scotland.1   King James II of Scots' father was King James I of Scotland and his mother was Joan Beaufort.  His paternal grandfather was King Robert Stewart III; his maternal grandparents were John Beaufort and Margaret Holland.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 29 on August 3rd, 1460 in Seige of Roxburgh Castle, Roxburgshire, Scotland a bursting piece of ordnance breaking his leg and killing him instantly.1

They had six sons and seven daughters, named John, King, John, Richard, Alexander, David, Mary, Margaret Elizabeth Lennox, Eleanor, Annabella, Margaret, Mary and Agnes.
