Mary was born in May 1380 in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland.1   Mary's father was King James II of Scots Stewart "Firey Face" and her mother was Queen Marie Von Guelders of Scotland.  Her paternal grandparents were King James I of Scotland and Joan Beaufort; her maternal grandparents were Arnold of Egmond and Catherine of Cleves. She had six brothers and six sisters, named John, King, John, Richard, Alexander, David, Margaret Elizabeth Lennox, Eleanor, Annabella, Margaret, Mary and Agnes.  She was the oldest of the thirteen children.  She died at the age of 78 in May 1458 in Thrieve Castle, Galloway, Galloway, Scotland.1
