John Whelan

John was born about 1887 in Dublin, Ireland.  John's father was John Joseph whelan and his mother was Elizabeth Moran.  His paternal grandparents are james whelan and julia bryan; his maternal grandfather was Thomas Moran and his maternal grandmother is Not Filled. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Thomas Patrick, Charles, Patrick, Vincent, Julia Mary, Cecilia and Kathleen.  He was the second oldest of the eight children.  He died on July 1st, 1916 in France.
