James Marjoribanks

James was born in 1806 in Troqueer, Kirkcudbrightshire.¹ James' father was Samuel Marjoribanks and his mother was Mary Reid. His paternal grandfather was James Marchbank and his paternal grandmother is Mary Kirkpatrick; his maternal grandparents are James Reid and Annie Halliday. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, Francis Reid, David, Elizabeth and Jane. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 64 on June 29th, 1870 in Little Kirkland, Urr.
