Catherine was born in 1491 in Edinburgh, Scotland.  Catherine's father was King James IV "Iron Belt" Stewart, Knight of the Order of the Thistle, Baron of Renfrew, Earl of Carrick, and her mother was Margaret Tudor.  Her paternal grandparents were King James III and Margaret of Denmark Queen of Scotland; her maternal grandparents were Henry VII Tudor King Of England Earl Of Richmond and Elizabeth of York Plantagenet, Queen Consort of England. She had eight brothers and five sisters, named Alexander, James, Arthur, James V, Alexander, Duke Ross, Archbishop of St Andrews, Darnley John, Robert, Adam, Princess of Scotland #1, Princess of Scotland #2, Mary, Jean Stewart and Margaret. She had a half-sister named Lady Margaret.  She died at the age of 63 on July 5th, 1554 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.
